Congrats Izuki!

We’ve had a loooooooong 3 days. Cruising on the beach ALL DAY in the 200 degree weather with 500% humidity. Batz got a 5th and I got a 7th. In the long run it isn’t a very good result, but knowing how close I was to squeezing it out of my heat before this one… I’m fine with it.

I still stand 3rd, but these last 2 contests are VERY important. Luckily, I’ve got my 2 coaches/travel partners Kekoa and Batz with me. Plus, my wife is coming for the next one to support. That’ll be huge! I can’t wait. I started this year knowing I need to make 13 heats to win the tour. So far, I’ve made only 8. I’ve got 5 more heats to make, but you need to take it one heat at a time, and one wave at a time…
Gonna pull it together for the last 2. Game On!

Izuki won the event. It was the most exciting heat of the comp. He needed an 8.25 and Nobu Osawa was winning the ENTIRE heat… Then, Izuki got the BOMB of the day and unloaded. Didn’t hold back. Result: 9.5 and the win!

We watched the UH and USC game online. Man, UH has a good team this year!
It’s going to fun going to the games…

And stay tuned there will be surf movies and funny movies coming on soon.
We’ve just been so busy.

Congrats Izuki!

Mada Ikiteru… Still Alive….

Look closely at this Round 3 Heat that I had. It was against my Murasaki Sports teammates Kaito and Tomo san. And my boy, Dazza. I tied with Tomo and it went to a countback to top scoring wave that I barely got. And I barely squeaked past Dazza by 0.1. Pretty heavy. And Kaito, Darren, Tomo, and I got a wave at the last 2 minutes of the heat! We shuffled around and I lucked out getting 2nd! Super stoked!
Into the quarters!!!

Here’s the Quarter’s Heats.
Batz in Heat 4. Me in Heat 2.
Wish us luck!

Game On

Batz and I didn’t get out heats run today.
So, we’re on this morning.
Wish us luck!

The Train Baby Vomit

So, when my Dad first arrived in Japan we jumped on the train and we noticed something weird on the ground. It was baby vomit. Pretty funny because we watched everyone somehow avoid it. One guy at the very last minute saw it and jumped over it (with one leg ALREADY in the air)!
Another guy saw it, went outside the train door and got in on the next train door. Hahaha…
I think it was one of those you had to be there moments.

My wife got a new toy! She must be having some fun with it.
I hope I can get one one of these days. But only if I can use it in Japan too…

Video Blog: Nijima Chapter 2 (UPdated)

This pretty much all happened in one day.
Never a dull moment on the road.
Hahaha!!!
.
We probably surf today.
Batz in Heat 8, me in Heat 10.
Wish us some luck!
Thanks to all the supporters!

Nijima Onsen = Saiko!

Long day today. The waves were flat in the morning, and somehow came up a little so we surfed until later today. Really fun… compared to what we’ve been surfing.
Izuki’s guy’s car got stuck in the sand and they had to get it out.
I’ve got video of it. I’ll show it later.
And the Onsen. The Nijima onsen is awesome!
It overlooks a sunset. Super sick!

Who wants to eat “Pilau”?

What do you want to eat?
Hehehe…
“Pilau” means “dirty” in Hawaiian.
I think it’s great that people in Japan try hard to put English on the menu’s and everywhere to help the Gaijin’s out. Of course, they do get it wrong sometimes and it’s funny.
Man, you should see all the things I say that are super wrong.
Ask Teppei. Hehehe…

Here is Masa san.
He was the last guy to come out of the water this morning and he started walking back to his car (20 minutes in the HOT HOT HOT sun!!!). We couldn’t let him do that. So, he caught a ride with us and he was stoked. We were glad to make his day.
Take care, Masa.

Nijima Video (w/ @thebats): Chapter 1

Lots of laughs…
Hahahahaha…

Goodbye Tokyo… Hello Nijima (w/ @thebats)

Batz, my Dad and I are super stoked to be in Nijima.
It doesn’t feel a normal JPSA. It feels a lot like home.
To have my Dad and my close buddies there is a definite good thing.
And we had a super fun session in waist high waves there.
Probably the most fun session I’ve had in a while.
Good vibes here!
